Bronze Buddha seated under Naga canopy
An unusual bronze casting of a Buddha seated on a serpent throne and under a seven-headed Naga canopy. He is seated in half-lotus posture, his right hand raised in blessing, the left hand in his lap. His expression is forceful. The entire bronze is heavily encrusted from burial. (Buddha Pamphlet #14)
From the later Dwaravati culture, Thailand, circa 12th/14th century.
