Standing Bronze Miniature pre-Khmer Buddha

A rare miniature bronze casting of a standing Bodhisattva or Buddha. Done in the Canasa or "Prakhon Chai" style of pre-Khmer art, this charming icon has a smiling face, and hair piled high in a jata . He wears a short sampot around his waist and raises his right hand in blessing. The support tang intact. Nice overall patina.
From the pre-Khmer culture, Thailand or Cambodia, circa 8th century.
Height: 3.5 inches (9 cm.)
