Gilded Miniature Chinese Buddha

An exquisite small gilded metal casting of a Buddha seated on a high throne, an elaborate flammiform aureole behind. Modelled after the Gandhara style, the right hand is raised in blessing. Excellent gilding, with some green patination. The aureole can be removed. (Buddha Pamphlet #9)
From China’s Wei (6th century) to early Tang (8th century) dynasties.
