Marble Standing Shan Buddha
A fine marble statue of a standing Buddha from the Shan states, Burma. The Buddha stands frontally, his expression benign. He wears the traditional robes of a monk, which are colored red and have remnants of gold leaf. His right hand is in a mystic gesture covering his chest and his left hand is pendant by his left side. A support tang is intact.
From the Shan culture, circa late 18th century, Burma (Myanmar).
