Round Bronze Mirror

A round bronze mirror with a raised pierced nub forming the center of a four-petaled lotus at the center of a classic mandala-form oriented to the four directions and making "T" and "L" forms. The mandala itself contains ten raised nubs, the outer layer encircled by eight raised nubs with eight stylized cyclical creatures, the ground decorated with highly stylized foliate forms. A most unusual composition. Similar but different to CM013.
From China’s Xin dynasty.
Diameter: 20.3 cm.
Thickness: 1.0 cm.
CM012
