Round Bronze Mirror
A round bronze mirror with a very large raised pierced nub forming the center of a lotus with nine small nubs, at the center of a classic mandala-form oriented to the four directions and making "T" and "L" forms. The ground is highly stylized and decorated with eight spirit creatures. Encircled by two bands – one with parallel rays, then one with repeated triangular star points. The outermost band is an intricate "running foliate" design. A most unusual composition. Similar but different to CM012.
From China’s Xin dynasty.
Diameter: 20.9 cm.
