Blacksmith Belows

The wooden part remaining from a blacksmith bellows, the sides notched. Rich brown color and patina from much handling. Skin bellows would have once been attached to the flared top pieces and metal blow tubes to the lower section. In Dogon culture most wood sculptures were created by blacksmiths, who were also the shamans.
