Matriarch "Hermaphrodite" on Cosmos Seat, holding Spoon

A hardwood carving of a matriarch in the form of a hermaphrodite, of the type referred to as "yomasaye". Seated on a stool supported by carytids, the figure is bearded, has large breasts, holds a large ladle and has a baby on her back. Scarification marks decorate the sides of the face and armbands and bracelets are on the arms. Dried-out surface, in parts with traces of pigment.
